A Takatori-yaki tea bowl by Kamei Miraku, bearing the lineage of the Enshu Seven Kilns.
The amber glaze does not stay still. It moves down the form in layers — pooling at the foot, thinning at the rim — creating what can only be called a landscape: not painted, but produced by heat and gravity and clay chemistry working together over centuries of refined knowledge. The wide, open form invites the hand. Visible throwing rings run across the interior, a reminder that this object was made on a wheel by someone who knew exactly what they were doing.
Takatori-yaki carries the direct influence of Kobori Enshu, the 17th-century tea master whose aesthetic sensibility shaped an entire generation of Japanese ceramic culture. Kamei Miraku holds that inheritance with care.
The signed wooden box reads: 高取 茶碗 味楽造.
Dimensions: diameter 13.5 cm, height 6.7 cm
Condition: Excellent
Box: Signed wooden box (tomobako) included
