Oribe ware emerged from Furuta Oribe's deliberate disruption of the austere Rikyu aesthetic — asymmetry, iron painting, the unexpected green. This tsutsu-chawan carries that lineage in full: white crackle body, vine and ivy traced in iron oxide, the green Oribe rim arriving where you do not expect it. The cylindrical form is a winter form, designed to hold warmth.

Nine point five centimeters at the rim, ten point five centimeters tall. The proportions suit a standing pour, tea drawn upward through the depth of the vessel. No chips, no cracks, no repairs.

Winter tea asks for enclosure. The tsutsu-chawan encloses. The vine motif continues across the surface without resolution — it does not arrive anywhere. That incompletion is the point.
