An Omuro-yaki tea bowl by Tsuboya Namie, fired in the tradition of Ninnaji temple's associated kiln in western Kyoto.

The gold ground carries seigaiha — the interlocking wave pattern that maps the sea's surface in a geometry of repetition and calm. Over it, shochikubai: pine, bamboo, plum. The three companions of winter. The symbols of endurance, resilience, and early beauty.

The overglaze enamels move across the surface in blue, red, white, and gold. This is not restraint. It is festive abundance — the kind that belongs to ritual celebration, to the New Year table, to the moment when the tea gathering becomes ceremony.

The bowl asks to be held on occasions that matter.
