From the Fukuyama kiln, Ogi Oseki's yohen chaire carries what the fire decided. The surface is dense and angular — deep brown and rust layered with white crystalline ash deposits that formed in the kiln's atmosphere without direction. Volcanic. Entirely itself.
The texture invites the hand. The wooden fitted lid sits with quiet precision atop a form that asks nothing and withholds nothing. Approximately H10cm. Tomobako signed by the artist with brushwork noting kiln and name. An object made from the collaboration of maker and fire.
