The wakamatsu — young pine, emblem of longevity and new year's clarity — covers the black lacquer ground in gold of exceptional depth. The red seal reading 悦 (joy, delight) marks the authenticity of the association.The scale is deliberate. An o-natsume of this presence commands the tokonoma and the moment. The mouth is 6.5 centimeters; the body opens to 7 centimeters; the full height reaches 7.4 centimeters. Nothing incidental in these proportions.Condition is excellent. The lacquer holds its depth. The maki-e has not shifted.Tomobako present, inscribed, sealed. The lineage is documented from the inside out.This piece carries cultural weight that accumulates rather than fades.
