Sakashita Yuho executed this naka-natsume in the Ryoryosai-gonomi — the design tradition of the Urasenke grand master — and the plum motif here does not sit quietly. Each gold blossom asserts itself: radiating petal lines, circular stamens precisely rendered, the composition moving across the black lacquer ground with deliberate energy. Not scattered. Not restrained. Present.
H6.6 cm, D6.7 cm. Interior warm amber with gold rim — a warmth that surfaces only when the lid is lifted. That interior is part of the design.
