Seseragi — the sound of a shallow stream over stones — is itself a motif in Japanese aesthetics. Kuse Kyūhō has painted that sound: golden clouds moving above bamboo, wave patterns suggesting water's passage, all rendered in the traditional overglaze enamel technique of Kyoto. The cream ground holds the colors without competing with them.

The well shows minor marks from use — evidence that this bowl has been part of tea practice, not stored away from it. The form is generous at 12.6 cm, appropriate for thick tea in any season.

Diameter 12.6 cm, height 7.5 cm. Wooden box included. Good condition with minor use marks in well.
