A gold-dust tame-nuri o-natsume of exceptional formal weight. The body carries scattered senmen — fan-shaped reserves — each containing a distinct landscape rendered in fine gold maki-e: willow bridge over still water, mountain passages, classical sansui compositions. The ground is dense with gold dust, creating a surface that holds light without announcing it.

The tomobako bears the inscription and seal of Houn-sai, the fifteenth Grand Master of Urasenke. This level of kaitemoto attribution marks the object as one of recognized ceremony — passed through hands that understood its purpose.

Made by Joan. Condition: excellent throughout.
