The body is dark — a deep, absorbed glaze that draws light inward rather than reflecting it. Around the rim, a band of red aka-e flowers interrupts the darkness with deliberate color. The boundary between the two registers is not a decoration. It is a structural decision.
Two aesthetic zones in one vessel: the contemplative ground below, the living world at the lip. You drink from the flowers. The depth holds everything else.
