The Hata Zōroku dynasty has cast and chased bronze for the tea ceremony across generations. This hanaire — its dark patina interrupted by splashes of gold — carries the authority of that inheritance. Bronze metalwork at this level is not made quickly; it is arrived at through repeated encounter with the material's resistance.

Houunsai's calligraphy on the box authenticates the piece within the living lineage of Urasenke tea practice. The form is elegant without announcing itself. At 17.8 cm, it occupies a tokonoma alcove with exactly the weight it should.

Height 17.8 cm, diameter 7.5 cm. Wooden box with Houunsai inscription included.
