A gohon-de chawan by Shimizu Hiroshi of Rakuzan kiln — soft cherry-blossom pink patches blooming across warm cream stoneware in the tradition that traces its origins to Korean tea bowls commissioned by Japanese tea masters.

Gohon-de is a technique of controlled accident. The pink blushes appear where iron in the clay responds to the kiln atmosphere, each firing producing unrepeatable constellations of warmth. This bowl carries its blush with the restraint of early spring — color that arrives without insistence.

The form is graceful and unhurried. Walls rise with gentle confidence, and the foot ring sits with the quiet stability of a bowl that knows its place in the temae.

Accompanied by the original tomobako (signed wooden storage box) with outer box.
