An antique bamboo chashaku inscribed 'Wakaba' — young leaves — by the monk Hosogai Kassho of Murasakino, within the Daitokuji lineage. Time has deepened the bamboo's surface, the patina accumulating without haste. The inscription calls to a specific moment in the seasonal turning: the first unfurling of spring growth. Approximately 19 cm in length. Housed in a wooden box.
