The seam where the lid separates runs precisely through the body's widest point, invisible until the piece is handled.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis eggplant kogo form carries a specific history: the nasu-chaire, the eggplant-shaped tea caddy, is among the most storied shapes in chado, associated with the great tea master Murata Jukō and later Matsushima no Tsubo.
